COOKS PINE MOUNTAIN

STUDENT ACADEMY AWARD
Ruth Fertig's documentary, Yizkor, which I animated, has won the Gold Student Academy Award in the documentary catgegory. Ruth's film is based on her grandmother's experience during the Holocaust. It combines Super 8 film, archival footage, and animation to tell the story. The awards ceremony will be on June 12th at the Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills CA. The event is free and open to the public, click here for tickets.
TIME IS LOVE 3, BERLIN

ATHENS VIDEO ART FESTIVAL

SPROUT WINS AWARD
Sprout received Best Experimental/ Animated Film at the West Virginia Mountaineer Short Film Festival, March 2010. Presented by The West Virginia University Department of Art in association with the Appalshop organization.

DIY 3D WORKSHOP @ SXSW
This March I taught a stereoscopic workshop for kids sponsored by SXSW and the Austin School of Film. Watch the video (requires red/cyan glasses). More workshops for all ages coming soon at ASoF. I also met some great stereoscopic (3D) artists at SXSW, including Ryan Suits, who among other things takes 3D long exposures of light: atomiccheesecake.net
PUPPET FILMS @ INTREPID MUSEUM, NYC
Several of my puppet films are playing with Heather Henson's Handmade Puppet Dreams Touring Film Festival. The following are playing at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum Feb. 17th: Sprout, Le Mariage des Chausettes (from Zut-Alors), House Upon a Hill, Sophie's Story & Piano Mouths.

ELSEWHERE AT ELSEWHERE
In May-June I spent a month as an Artist-in-Resident at the Elsewhere Artist Collaborative in Greensboro NC. A former thrift store, Elsewhere is now a living art museum. Artists come and work with the thrift shop remnants to create installations, performances, films and more. During my residency I focused on stereoscopic animation and 3D photos installations. YIZKOR
